Deliveries must be signed for. If no one is available to receive your order at the time of delivery the courier driver will leave notification of the attempted delivery and return the goods to the regional depot for your area, from where you will be responsible for arranging collection or possible redelivery. A.J. Smith and Son (Benfleet) Ltd operate this policy to provide formal proof with respect to goods being despatched and safely received. Delivery will only be made to the delivery address specified at the time the order is placed. For customer convenience A.J. Smith and Son (Benfleet) Ltd allow customers to specify a different address for delivery at the time of order. For example a lot of customers specify that goods are to be delivered to their place of work or to a neighbour who they know will be available to accept delivery. There are different charges for international orders where there are products that we are able to despatch overseas.
Standard courier delivery charge for most areas of mainland UK is usually between £8.00 to £17.50 per delivery, subject to the item. Cedar Shingle delivery charge is £65.00. †Cedar Shingles are delivered usually on a pallet lorry on a kerbside basis. †Please make sure there is suitable access for a delivery to be made before placing an order. †In all cases the delivery charge will be clear at the time of order. Standard delivery time is approx 1 - 4 days. If there is good reason to deviate from standard arrangements then customers will be informed accordingly. These prices are inclusive of VAT. These delivery arrangements exclude Northern Ireland, Highlands and Islands. For these areas please contact us to establish if delivery is possible and what extra charge would apply. †There are different charges for international orders.
It is extremely unusual for our customers to want to return any of the products that A.J. Smith and Son (Benfleet) Ltd sell but in the unlikely event that they do this is our policy :-You have the right to cancel an order with us, or any part of an order within 7 days from the day of delivery. However, we regret that we cannot accept returns of items that have been used or returns of items where the packaging has been removed.
The procedure for returning an item is:-
Contact us to notify us that you have an item to be returned. Please package the item securely and send it to us so that we receive it within 7 working days of the date that the item was delivered to you. We strongly recommend that you use a recorded-delivery courier service as we can not accept liability for goods lost in transit to us. Please note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we have delivered a faulty item to you.
We will issue a refund (credit card refund if that was the method used at time of order) of the purchase price of the returned item within 3 working days of receiving the item safely back to ourselves, and in the same state as originally despatched to you. The goods must be in a condition suitable for resale.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
