Deks Olje D1
Deks Olje D1 (D1) is a special kind of wood oil and is the heart of the Deks Olje System which will give long lasting beautiful brightwork with minimal maintenance. D1 is a uniquely penetrating oil that is high in solids and able to get deep into the wood where it dries, sets and stays.
Used on its own Deks Olje D1 needs occasional topping up of the surface as UV and use wear it out, this is easily done with a simple maintenance coat. Deks Olje D1 is suitable for use on (in) all types of wood from hard to soft wood where its penetrating properties will really bring out the inherent nature and character of the wood.
Deks Olje D1 can be used on it's own for areas were a good grip is important such as decks, cockpit gratings and walkways, or over coated with Deks Olje D2. Deks Olje D1 can also be used and brings the same benefits before painting or varnishing.
Deks Olje D2
Deks Olje D2 (D2) is a high gloss varnish-like flexible finish that gives all types of boating woods a deep rich shine that give such pleasure to the eye. D2 is applied to wood that is already fully saturated with D1, the two combine to give a long lasting rich finish that is easily maintained.
Traditional varnishes tend to crack and peel, when they are damaged water gets into the wood and lifts the varnish staining the wood. The result is difficult to spot repair making stripping and a complete re-treatment necessary. The Deks Olje system works to stop these standard problems, D1 protects the wood from the inside and resists UV damage, D2 provides a tough flexible high gloss that is easy to spot repair.
If the surface is damaged water can not get into the wood so any damage stays where it is until it can be sanded and re-coated, you will not see the repair.
