Supplied in mixed lengths 2.44m (8 ft) and longer

Durable, and very strong hardwood requiring no chemical preservative treatment due to natural resistance to fungal decay and insect attack. A very stable timber with an excellent track record for decking in the USA and elsewhere.

Pieces of decking range in colour from attractive dark brown , medium brown, olive, orange-brown and with some pieces almost black. It will weather naturally to a pleasant driftwood/silver grey if left untreated.

In the USA Ipe is often the timber of choice when the ultimate, high quality, durable, very low maintenance decking is required.

Ipe is pronounced (ee-pay)

Extra strong heavy duty fixing is recommended for hardwood decking e.g. stainless steel screws
Tip :- Waxing the ends of hardwood deck planks discourages end splits e.g End Seal from Chestnut Products

In terms of appearance it should be noted that a small percentage of pinhole may be found in Balau. This is not detrimental to the timber.

METAL DECK PANELS
Three new stylish ironwork panels that simply screw between timber posts.

Designed to create a new and fresh effect to the deck, and so easy to fit. Many more customers will now have the confidence to carry out this kind of project.
813mm tall and fitting a 1130mm gap, each panel has a 40mm (1½") wide toprail which provides a new all metal look. The panels can also be drilled to accommodate standard timber handrails. Each panel comes with four screw on brackets, nuts and bolts. Finished in black, they require a final coat of gloss paint.
