Pressure treated timber has a high performance envelope of protection which where possible should be maintained. Sometimes the cutting of treated timber is unavoidable, breaching this envelope and impairing the level of performance. Examples include on-site drilling of bolt holes, cutting to length or notching. The application of a cut end treatment such as Solignum restores protection.
